The evidence seems conclusive, it was indeed Kim Jong Il's North Korea that was responsible for the Cheonan ship sinking but as I've previously mentioned on here the feelings are pretty much mute bar a few people here and there
The BBC has a neat little piece voicing various opinions (mixed emotions amongst koreans)
In my own experience though most students I've asked about the situation have been pretty quiet or unimpressed by the whole scenario, some even saying the whole incidence has become "boring" hardly a matter of life and death and possibly war then? I think the article from the New York times sums this up quite nicely, South Korea's collective shrug.
Other rumours now circulating are suggesting old Kimmy is using this whole scenario as a ploy draw attention from him handing over power to his son, Dangerous Insecurity. Either way the South cannot realistically go to war as it has everything to lose and nothing to gain, the North on the other hand, quite the opposite.
My contract is up at the end of next month so I'll be leaving soon anyway, but things are a little bit edgy to say the least and I'll certainly be counting down the days until I'm boarding the next flight out of here!
