The Rooney debate

So Rooney swears and suddenly its back page worthy? Are the papers really that desperate. The guy scores a hatrick and leads his team to a remarkable comeback which may have won the title and all they focus on is the swearing? What a load of F***ing $***

The issue is a strange one as the swearing wasn't at the referee but at the TV camera.

He was caught in the moment by his own admission and was indeed a very silly boy for what he did but a two game suspension does seem a tad harsh.

Apparently referee Lee Mason has set a dangerous precedent for himself by saying if he had heard Rooney's outburst at the time he would have sent him off, that means now anytime a footballer is seen hurling abuse at the ref, admittedly something that Rooney tends to be seen doing at least 5 times a game, they should be red carded for this precedent.

Ironically Adebayor when running the whole length of the pitch to the Arsenal fans and sliding in front of them much to their fury, resulting in a tad of trouble, was only fined and yet Rooney is suspended?

Similarly Harry Rednapp seen in the video above went seemingly unpunished for his f bomb...hmm double standards?

Almost fittingly Tevez has no been written off for the FA cup game on Saturday so the cunning plan may have hit a proverbial brick wall.

Sorry this ended up coming out a lot later than I'd planned and is a bit of a rant rather than an impartial view, I may come back later to be a little more unbiased!
