Coalville town post wembley

Coalville Town captain Ashley Brown has expressed his disappointment as the Ravens crashed to an unfortunate 3-2 defeat at Wembley.
After clawing themselves back into the game twice Brown was unfortunate to give away a vital free kick that lead to Whitley Bay’s match winning goal.
The 32 year old right back said he was bitterly disappointed to see the game turn out the way it bid
He said: “We’re really disappointed about the game I feel we were the better side for big portions of the game and were unlucky not to win.”
In to his 10th season with the club and having made close to 450 appearances Brown was hoping to add the FA Vase to the  Midlands Alliance title his team had already clinched last satuday (30th April)
The veteran felt a few key referring decisions went against his team, including a potentially decisive penalty call.
He said: “I think the referee got some calls wrong, if we’d have got the penalty the game could have turned out very different. That’s football though unfortunately.”
Brown was also hoping to win the game in honour of veteran defender Leigh Everitt (40) who was unfortunately suspended for the biggest game of his career and has since retired.
Another player disappointed with the result was goal scorer Matt Moore
He said the team definitely deserved to win.
"In a way it feels great to score a goal on one of the most famous football grounds but I can’t help but feel disappointed we couldn’t get the win," he added
Despite the dreadful disappointment to the end of the season club Chairman Glyn Rennocks has said there will still be room for celebration after a good cup run.
He said: “we set our stall out to win the league and we have, the cup run was always a bonus, in the end it turned out to be a bigger bonus than expected!”
Mr Rennocks said the local had already approached him about organising some kind of celebration.
He added “If we had won the cup there would of course been a big celebration to mark the occasion, as it is we still hope to have a small celebration to mark the clubs brilliant performance this season.”
