A fearless student is to tackle the Tanzanian peak of Mount Kilimanjaro - Africa's highest mountain - to raise money for charity.
By scaling the 5,985-metre summit he aims to raise an amazing £2,440 for the Charity Childreach International but he is appealing for further support in the form of sponsorships or donations where possible.
Antonis Anderson (19), a mathematics student at the University of Nottingham, has set himself the £2,440 target to raise money for Childreach International, a charitable organisation which helps improve children’s access to health and education.

He is hoping to have completed his gargantuan challenge by July 11th 2011.
He said: “My goal to climb Kilimanjaro is because I believe children across the world deserve the right to learn and reach their full potential.

“I believe children across the world deserve to have the necessary vaccinations to survive and I believe that no matter what country you are from, children are the key to the future.”
Childreach International was set up in order to help children across the globe and donations gained go towards helping build schools, improve healthcare to children and restoring children's rights.

Children in countries such as Africa, India and Palestinian Territories will all benefit from the sponsorship contributed.
“They deserve the best start in life and with the generosity of others, I can reach my target of £2,440 and together we can provide exactly what is needed in the world,” he added.
Antonis’ mum, Maria (42) said how proud of her son she was and how he always worked hard to achieve his goals.

She said: “He’s always so helpful to everyone around him too and I’m so proud that he has chosen to raise money for children. The whole family is supporting him and we are so proud of him already.”
