Well, it's already happened I'm getting get lackadaisical in my blogging. I blame my current playstation binge for that. It's been some 5 or 6 months since I dusted off the PS2 since we bought we Wii, but Pro Evo always gets me hooked.

I always ponder why that is though, I always end up furious with the game and turn the air blue with my language, even Eminem or South Park would blush after hearing me in the middle of a Pro Evo frenzy. Together with friends its no problem, I've gone with students many times to the Playstation rooms here (see opposite, I'll talk about them a little more in a moment) and we can laugh at the mistakes the Goalkeeper makes or the frequent own goals that result from players kicking the ball against eachother. At home though, in one player mode, I become the Incredible Sulk, what the f#@& kind of decision was that ref? Surely its offside? F#@&ing no foul what a surprise! I often watch in amazement as the computer dribbles past 5 or 6 players  before planting a sweet shot in to the top corner, not a problem per say if that player was Ronaldo or Messi, heck even Malouda seems to be able to do it nowadays but Paul frigging Robinson? come on please, you have got to be kidding me right? No disrespect to the guy but he won't be winning any WPOTY awards any time soon.

Nevertheless I still end up coming back to the game why is that? I've currently started a new Master League with Spurs of all teams, it got a little easy as Man Red or London Blues. Imagine my disapointment to find myself in a relegation scrap at the start of the season. I've reached a more respectable mid table position of 8th now but my skill level is somewhat shocking. Never mind theres the semi final 2nd league of the milk cup to come against the London Blues, maybe theres still a chance of some silverware.

Playstation rooms then, what are they you ask. Well my friend, they are rooms with a whole lot of playstations in, pretty obvious right. Similar to  internet cafes or pc rooms as they are called here, it's just a place for youngsters (usually blokes) to unwind from university and so on. Console ownership seems a little low here, probably something to do with the crazy amount of piracy that goes on in Korea, so instead people go to these rooms, make a huge amount of racket, smoke copious amounts of cigarettes (koreans chain smoke like you wouldn't believe, especially bizarrely whilst playing computer games and not having a hand free, I've seen many fag ends about half the length of the actual cigarette, dangling precariously waiting to drop onto some poor unsuspecting friends lap) The fee for this pleasure is about 5 quid each, about a rental of a game at blockbusters these days. I'm pondering if the idea will work back home in England it has potential but the leccy bill would be enormous and I'm guessing alcohol would be a must.
